Anyone who has always wanted a special property, will find it here in Felanitx. The old mills, which are considered historical monuments and must be preserved, offer a very special and unique way of living
and thus become part of the local history.
This mill is a renovation property, which could also be inhabited during the renovation phase but which can and should generally be modernized according to your own ideas. Pool construction is not permitted on any of these mill properties.
The narrow driveway to the property leads through a gate onto a wild Mediterranean overgrown area, which also houses a large garage in addition to the mill building. A private fountain in front of the house immediately draws attention. The highlight, of course, is the very well-preserved tower of the mill.
Under the mill tower – right in the middle is a room that is currently used as a storage room. The same applies to the surrounding room with vaulted ceiling. This area can still be expanded and would represent, for example, a nice little library with a reading area or a studio with its own gallery for artists.
Below is the actual living area, which offers a surprising amount of space, already has a cédula.
From the entrance area, a corridor, which forms a passage room with its width, leads to the back of the building. The actual rooms are on the right and left. There are 3 bedrooms – one with an anteroom with a fireplace, a utility room and a bathroom with a bathtub.
A through room in the outbuilding was set up as a small salon. From here is another bedroom, the kitchen with a large storage room, another bathroom with shower and the spacious fireplace room with living and dining area.
In this part of the building, the walls seem to have struggled more with the Mallorcan humidity in recent years, which can easily be seen from the condition of the plaster.
One can get outside through the laundry room, where a tiled staircase leads to the roof of the building and then into the mill tower.
From up here you have a fantastic view of the entire town of Felanitx and the neighbor’s already renovated mill, which is higher up and surrounded by prickly pears.
Anyone who climbs the narrow spiral staircase of the tower will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view. On one side you can see as far as Cap Formentor, further to the left you can see the Tramuntana mountains, the monastery hill of Randa and the sea towards Cabrera. On the other side you can see the monastery mountain of San Salvador. Up here, you know that it is a very special building whose charm needs to be revived.
Felanitx is located in the east of Mallorca. The municipal area borders the Llevant region and is home to eight beaches. The port of Felanitx is in Portocolom, about 15 minutes away.
Felanitx offers wonderful historical and cultural treasures, breathtaking scenery and a family atmosphere.
The centre of the city is the large market square, surrounded by cafes and small shops.
Behind it rises the imposing town church, which is framed by many small stalls on market days.
The town of Felanitx was only founded by the Moors in the 11th century. The numerous windmills (no longer functional) that were built on a rocky ridge above the village and used to produce flour can be seen from afar. Mallorcan capers, apricots and almonds are important agricultural products today.
Felanitx was the first wine-growing region on Mallorca. Today around 75% of Majorcan white wine comes from the area around Felanitx.
Just outside the village, a serpentine road and a hiking trail lead to the more than 500 meter high Puig de Sant Salvador with its pilgrimage church and former monastery. Impressive and visible from afar is the Christo Rei statue, as well as a large stone cross on the Puig des Milá just below the monastery.
From up here you have a panoramic view over the coast to the nature reserve of the island of Cabrera.
The airport of Palma can be reached in about 40 minutes via the new expressway from Campos to Llucmajor.
