This charming townhouse is in a quiet location, close to the pedestrian zone. All important institutions, shops, restaurants, cafes and restaurants can be reached quickly on foot.
The house is entered via a beautiful, spacious entrance area leading to 3 rooms, one of them with an open fireplace. The kitchen, bathroom and a small patio are also located on the ground floor, with a historic oven in its original state. There are 3 more bedrooms on the first floor, one of them with a bathroom en suite. One can access the attic via a fourth room. This is suitable for further expansion of living space but it is also ideal for creating a roof terrace that would have a beautiful view of the entire town.
As a special feature, this house offers beautiful high, original wooden beamed ceilings in very good condition, making the modernization of this building more cost-effective.
A well-thought-out project exists for the entire object, enabling the building to be modernized to preserve it´s historical identity.
Suitable for anyone looking forward to modernizing a historic building by combining the advantages of the old and new.
The traditional town of Artà is located in the middle of a wide valley at the foot of a small mountain in the northeast of Mallorca. Most of the town center has been converted into a pedestrian zone.
The town is overlooked by the fortified Santuari Sant Salvador, which is one of the main sights of the town. The sanctuary and its walls were originally built in the 14th century and then reconstructed in the 19th century.
The area around Artà is known for its pottery production and basketry. Archaeological excavations – such as the talayotic settlement of Ses Paisses – have unearthed woven fibers that indicate the craft is one of the oldest on the island.
A walk through the ramparts of the Islamic castle Almudaina d’Artà offers wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. There are some beaches that you can hike to. The way there is just as beautiful as the beaches themselves. Also worth seeing are the Cuevas d’Artà stalactite caves on the coast.
Artà hosts two markets. The general market in Plaça del Conqueridor and the handicrafts market in the Villa Na Batlessa property. Both take place on Tuesday mornings and are particularly popular with local residents.
Palma can be reached in about an hour’s drive.
